Cut and cover two arch tunnel
Construction of a twin arch, cut and cover tunnel North of Wellington Place, London, circa 1897. Note the steam powered crane, and the contractor's temporary rails that are typically littered with debris and materials. This section of the Line (Contract No. 7) was built by J. T. Firbank of London Bridge.
