Bridge 364 - Birstall, Leicester

This is bridge 364, a handsome brick arch underbridge that spanned Thurcaston Road, Leicester. Photographed looking north west in May 1977, this imposing structure was 27' 5' high and had a maximum span of 48' 8'. Note the wing wall on the left is curved, whilst the one on the right is straight. Sadly, this bridge has long since been demolished, and only part of the southern abutment still survives.
