Maps and plans of The Last Main Line

This section charts the path of the Great Central Railway London Extension between Manchester and Marylebone in London.

There are three different areas: modern Ornance Survey maps, original track plans and steam engine plans.

Interactive OS Maps
This section uses OS maps from 2003 to show the path of the GCR all the way from Manchester to London, with links to images throughout.

Original track plans
The Last Main Line website also contains pages from a book of plans created after a survey of the completed line in 1901.

Plans of engines
To complete this section, we also have ten sets of steam engine plans from the engine manufacturer Beyer Peacock and Co. Ltd, Manchester.
